Cancer Care Coordination

For current patients, future patients, and patients who come to us after a connection through the Pet Owner Information Request service, we have a team to help make access to cancer diagnostics and care at CSU as streamlined and efficient as possible.

Our goal is for you and your pet to feel cared for from the first contact. Let’s face it, cancer is hard enough. Our team of Cancer Care Coordinators aims to help navigate the path forward to schedule an initial appointment, providing information to help you understand what to expect at the first visit, and gathering medical records so the CSU oncology team is as informed as possible ahead of your arrival. We are your partners in cancer care and we will do our best for your pet.

The Lucy Oncology Clinic at the Flint Animal Cancer Center sees new patient appointments Monday-Friday. Please note, appointments are often booked out for three weeks or more.

The specialty fee for the new patient visit is $270.00. This fee includes the physical exam, a review of recent medical information from primary or other specialty veterinarians, a discussion of our recommended treatment options, and detailed cost estimates for diagnostics and treatment.

To schedule an appointment at the Flint Animal Cancer Center, call (970) 297-5000. The appointment line is available Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm. Please be prepared to provide the following information when you call:

  1. Your name, address, and phone number
  2. Your pet’s name, breed, age, and spay/neuter status
  3. The name and contact information for the veterinary clinic(s) who have recently seen your pet
  4. The presumed diagnosis or short descriptions of the cancer concern
