Flint Animal Cancer Center (FACC) received a $100,000 grant investment from national nonprofit Petco Love in support of their lifesaving work for pets in Northern Colorado.

Petco Love is a national nonprofit leading change for pets by harnessing the power of love to make communities and pet families closer, stronger, and healthier. Since its founding in 1999, Petco Love has invested nearly $421 million in adoption and other lifesaving efforts. And Petco Love helps find loving homes for pets in partnership with Petco and more than 4,000 organizations across North America, with more than 7 million pets adopted and counting.

Since the launch of the Pet Cancer Awareness (PCA) initiative in 2010, Petco Love and Blue Buffalo have partnered to invest $21 million in pet cancer research and treatment, funding cutting-edge studies and helping thousands of pets receive the care they need. Petco Love supports 15 partner organizations and oncology universities – like the Flint Animal Cancer Center – by investing in pet cancer research and subsidizing treatment costs for pet parents who wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford lifesaving care for their pets.

“Cancer doesn’t just affect people — it takes the lives of too many beloved pets,” said Susanne Kogut, President of Petco Love. “Together with Blue Buffalo, we’re empowering pet parents with education, resources, and hope to help pets fight and survive this disease.”

“We are immensely grateful for Petco Love’s investment in the Flint Animal Cancer Center. With the partnership with Petco Love, we can ensure that finances are less of a barrier to cancer care for our patients and their families. This generous support accelerates our mission to advance cancer treatment, offering renewed hope and healing to those who need it most. On behalf of our entire team, thank you Petco Love for your remarkable commitment to changing lives,” said Dr. Susan Lana, Director of the Flint Animal Cancer Center.

The Flint Animal Cancer Center is a nonprofit organization that is on a mission to improve the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer in companion pets, translating what is learned to also benefit people with cancer serving Northern Colorado and beyond. Since 2002, the Flint Animal Cancer Center has threated thousands of companion pets fighting cancer and has made a lasting impact on the field of cancer research. The FACC has also trained hundreds of veterinary oncologists who now treat patients around the world, as well as PhD researchers who are on the cutting-edge of better diagnostics and treatments for cancer. With this investment from Petco Love, more pets will have access to treatments and clinical trials, furthering the FACC’s mission to conquer cancer for all.
